Lakehouse Kitchen Remodel

The kitchen in this lakehouse was transformed from a dimly-lit, closed in space to a brighter, more contemporary, and functional open concept, that now feels spacious and inviting. To achieve this, a wall was removed between the kitchen and dining area which added a sight line directly to the outdoors, allowing in more natural light and creating an expansive feel. A functional and beautiful peninsula was installed between the kitchen and dining area to maximize the base cabinet storage, countertop space, and to add more seating options.

The new vaulted ceiling which replaced the pre-existing standard one gives the kitchen an exceptionally spacious feel. Bright new white cabinets and quartz countertops replaced the old out-dated ones, making the most of the natural lighting by creating plenty of places for the light to bounce off of. A full-wall backsplash was installed making it both easy to clean and adding depth and character to the space. All appliances and lighting were updated with new contemporary ones and engineered hardwood flooring was installed to completed the new look. The result of the remodel was a bright, open kitchen, in complete contrast to the original dark closed-in space.
